I couldn't get into the show until I read the books, but now I'm hooked, hooked I tell you! I got myself the Season 1 dvds for Mothers Day, and now the second ones are on the way. woohooo!

Yup. I was a HUGE James Herriot fan when I was a teenager and the British TV series came out just when I was getting into the books.

I had the biggest crush on Tristram for a long time and was chuffed when he became Dr Who.

What I liked best about a lot of the stories was the different strong characters of the farming community.
