Swamp Girl (1971)

Cult flick about a girl living in Georgia swamps & meeting up with escaped convicts. Very Roger Corman-ish.

Prozac Nation

This came out in 2001. Nice nudie scene from Christina Ricci but depressing otherwise.

Black Widow

Saw this (legally). It was ok. Too much CGI, too predictable. The blonde 'sister' was the best part.

WoW..! I saw this nearly 3 months ago.....
And I STILL Remember it..quite well... Scarlettwas awesome in it & carried the other lamers along if you ask me....

I had to look her up to see her name:

Florence Pugh
Yelena Belova as maybe you couldnt recall it either..?

She was adequate......but is confirming my Disney fears...
They wanna cut expenses without mangling quality TOO BADLY.....
I Know we Will Make OUR OWN Stars...& Punish Scarlett
on the way out the door so they dont get too Uppity....no?

well.. Disney's 1st 'insult' to the property was acquiring it in the 1st place.

They cannot understand Marvel, only Stan Lee did....

Right outta the gate...Tom Hollow-man as Peter Parker/Spidey.......

{My 1st Comic book purchase ever was Spider-man #48 MAy'67!! with the Vulture....
A poor story with a Lamer villain but I was hooked.....}
I Had my 1st Nerd=gasm when I saw the cover for issue 50..

Tom Holland is too small & untalented to play either of them.....I saw him in Avengers...& it was my biggest Marvel disappointment to date...
I havent watched ANY of his Spiderman work...tho Mysterio was my Fave villain...

I Fear Flo will share a similar fate......lesser talent, lesser character, not able to carry Marvel's humor. An Anchor not a balloon...

there's a Youtuber called 'Critical Drinker':

Marvel Phase 4 - Who Cares?

A teaser...the opening line

“So I was lying face-down in my local duck pond...”
his best line ever ..but you can say you were there to hear it in person.....

I, mostly, agree with his assessment.....tho I am lookin forward to a few of them.

I agree tho she is to old to do an 'Origin" story....

My worry is that Disney/MCU isn't really Marvel anymore.
Corporate enuff to decide that worthless unknowns are enuff to carry any title.

SO I expect 5 or 6 untested Kiddy Actors to be
underpaid & fail SPECTACULARLY because short term profits are king.

They have no Superhero competition so just like America after the cold war.....
the powers taht be will self-.destruct the company/Country for their own benefits

Heavy Metal 2000

An animated sci-fi movie. The animation outshines Marvel's What If. The story was predicable but i stuck through it.

Yeah..I actually own this 1 legitimately...on VHS

Heavy Metal is the ONLY Cartoon I have enjoyed as an adult.
Its why I keep checkin in occasionally to see if anyone else can
transmute video into gold. never happened again.

After learning of its existence { HM2000} on IMDb & lamenting that I would
probably Never ever see it....

I stumbled on it at our local Bizarre/Bazaar....
the Walden Ave Superflea {Market} long gone replaced by ...yes.. a Walmart!!!

A treasure of immeasurable value just tossed in @ $3 a piece.
there was NO Way he was gonna let go of this for that I feared.....

He cared not Simple convo & I walked out.....feeling like I had just robbed a total Noob.

Strangely I didnt play it when I got home....
not even after seeing it every few month for years later.

Finally I Did it.
I was crestfallen..this was it???...

fast forward maybe the next part...its GOTTA Get better..!!!
I spent maybe 20 minutes on it......I didnt enjoy any of it....

I Cant even remember Julie Strain!!??!!! Makes me sad.. even now...

Wish I could feel free to speak the thru of things on here.

Ok I did buy this...it was a waste, big deal,
the makers or Julie Strain were COMPLETELY unaffected
by this purchase as it was a used VHS.

I also gladly paid up to $50 a showing for all the LotR movies.
Its great. Totalling more than $700... it was worth it.

It was @ 18 trips all told. A joy for me & Val... Every-time.

the internet changes that....
a person creating a "free Screening" isnt really harming the business.
They often wont/cant pay for it anyways....
what are their rights to a world that includes them....

Imagine a world wide charity that shows select movies to under privileged children for free.....
Imagine Hollywood charging them to Show these movies,
years out of date ...say when they are on free broadcast TV.....

Is that villainous....or should they still make a profit....
at what cost to civilization.

I saw a mind altering quote recently....

" Everything that allows Humans to thrive is destructive.... "

Dune (2021)

Here's a movie in desperate need of an editor! Clip out about 50 min from 2 hr 35 min & there might be a watchable flick. Spiderman's girlfriend is in this & she can't act to save her life. i struggled to stay awake.

Thanks for reminding me ! I Was Blown Away By Heavy Metal.
I enjoyed Ghost in the Shell & Fantastic Planet.

Wizards & Cool World were Acceptable....
Kinda like the food on your plate that youre supposed to eat
As opposed to the part that youre really into.
I have never finished any other animation I have started....Its easily 2 dozen.

The Hentai Anime stuff is absolutely cringey....
the female voices delivered to sound pre-pubescent.....*shudder*

Also they all pretty much are the same......thematically
only the setting is changed.
the more powerful the women are the bigger theyre tits are..WtF????
Tho the panty flashing is kinda cute... Wink

Japan's population is crashing,I hear,I can see why.
I think the Hentai craze is more of a symptom that a cause.
Their youth is not dating getting together or marrying much at all.

During WW2 they had a Hyper macho culture of Imperialism & they
just took what they wanted....
a bunch of tiny proud warriors using weapons that increased their reach.

They were trained to suicide rather than surrender & the only luck
they ever had after Pearl Harbor was Bad Luck....
losing repeatedly when they should have won.

They didnt just lose a war.... their ENTIRE belief system was annihilated.
Their God Emperor was humbled & removed from power...
2 of their cites were burned off of the face of the earth in less than a week..

In a Final humiliation instead of giving them the Honorable extinction that they craved....We said No no let us help you rebuild....Imagine the impotence they felt.

Hell most White Women are taller than them.

Now Imagine,in an imperial room in Japan. Your fav average height xc wife gliding confidently into the room, the assembled brass smiling waving & tipping their hats to her in RESPECT...!?!

She hurries to the Allied Leader to hand him as Important document in a binder.
He breaks off {!!!} his conversation with the Japanese Leader
to Smilingly acknowledge her & THANK HER!!!!

Why has no one beheaded her by now !!!!

She backs up a bit & pivots to face the Japanese she remains the Closest human to the Allied leader.....
"Perhaps she doubles as a Secretary/BODYGUARD!!!"

Her big unbroken feet are in low practical heels & her green{?} uniform
is an impeccable feminine version of the Australian Army...
She is a Lieutenant ....in charge of..????

Im pretending she is Peta Wilson's Grandma ...if you dont like it or the rank uniform is wrong talk to casting...sheesh

Peta herself is just TOO TALL if she towers over the Allied Leaders its just TOO UNbelievable..no??
Big Grin
