i love the original Kong; Fay Wray was great as Ann Darrow. i hated the '76 remake, it took place in the Me Decade instead of the 1930s- blah. This time round it's a big winner. It's a long film. Yeah, they coulda trimmed it down a bit, though i hope Peter Jackson has a lotta extra footage for the dvd.

The best thing about '05 Kong is that beauty understands and adores beast, and beast has a lotta soul. She wants to protect him as much as her does her. Naomi Watts is perfect as Ann Darrow, i doubt there coulda been a better choice for that role. Her emotional range works wonders in the film. The '05 Kong himself isn't the embarrasement that the '79 model was and he's definately more captivated by the girl than the original. Yeah, that's Andy Serkis (gollum in LOTR) doing the body movements for Kong here.

Jack Black is well cast as the risk taking director. i dunno, i didn't see much chemistry between Naomi and the leading human man (Adrien Brody). But i love a good beauty & beast story.

Get refills during the insect scenes but don't miss any of the Kong/Naomi scenes. MMMmmm Naomi.

Time for King Kong to split and leave Naomi behind for Argy to rescue.

Val & I saw this...She liked it more than I did.

I should say I dont like the story or any previous version of this...Its too long its not very involving..
Narnia & Underware Evolution both chew this up & spit it out.

I should have waited til it was at the REALLY cheapy theatre.
Ill probably not watch it again til its on Cable & maybe not then.

Why is it easier to fool the masses than it is to convince them that they have been fooled...?
