You're probably already in the States if you're reading this.

What are your first impressions?

How did the flight go?

What other random thoughts do you have to share?

I'm just waiting on my insurance, which should come through tomorrow.

It's difficult trying to remember little details like what to take, what to charge up, what food to pack etc.

I got a new digital camera yesterday (the first proper one I've ever had - I used to use that one that looks like a video camera). I've been playing around with that so I'm used to it.

I also found out that I've successfully completed my TAFE course, so I can relax and just be excited about the trip, now.

See you soon!

*squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*

Hey Nora, will your car fit my big suitcase innit?

It's not quite as big as Tom Hank's luggage in Joe Versus the Volcano, but it's not far off.

probably. If not, the rear seat can fold down and still accommodate a passenger.

Looks like Sara is going to have to cancel on us. She's got a major move that came up faster than she expected, so the money is an issue.

I'm trying to convince my mother and aunt to come along. Mostly for company on the drive up, but also because it may be our last chance for a visit for a few months. Mom's got a minivan, so the cargo and passenger space is much roomier than my car.

I had a feeling Sara wouldn't be able to make it.

A minivan would be fun to drive.

Tell them they can meet a charming Aussie in person, if they come along for the ride.

It would be fun to have them around, I reckon.

I'll take that lap dance. Bring plenty of green backs. Wink

I look forward to meeting your Mom, Nora. The Jeep will be fun.

I fly out the day after Sydney explodes into World Youth Day feat. Pope on a Rope.

I'm getting excited about my trip but also worried that I'm gonna forget something and REALLY damn tired because I can't get to sleep at night because of the aforementioned excitement and worry. Bloody hell, that was a long sentence.

I'm loading songs on to my iPod as we speak.

Um, yeah. I bought a travel guide today. That's about all I can think of to type so damn tireed asklj;pagt ioearfujf[ i[piaofuj [auj[awoeif jawe[foiuje[f [aoweuj

Peace. Out.

Yeah, I'm packing swimmers coz there are supposed to be great pools at the Flamingo.

Just booked some accommodation and printed off some sight-seeing stuff to do in Dallas. Hope I got the accommodation nights right.

FINALLY got my bloody travel insurance papers sent to me today. Bastards.

You still haven't said your first impressions of the States. Spill.

You get an interesting insight into yourself when you are loading new CDs onto your iPod, in preparation for being completely alone in a strange city on the other side of the world.

I find that I absolutely MUST have Eurhythimics, Architecture In Hellsinki, and of course Lucinda Williams and the Dixie Chicks (I will be in Texas, after all).

it took a little while for it to sink in that we were somewhere different.

what really kicked it in, was watching the parade at disneyland, esp since jess was in it :P

its so hot :P and since we are walking so much i am wishing i bought some good quality sneakers.

Ares was walking past and I read out to him what you wrote and he said, "What, has she got Dunlop Volleys?"

I found that mildly amusing.

BTW, I am the proud owner of two pairs of Dunlop Volleys, one of them I bought in the 80s.

My flights have been delayed by four hours. I probably won't get to Vegas until at least 4 pm.

Ame, can you please text or ring Smirky and let her know she may have to check in before me. Please tell her my full name so she can do that.

If you forget my full name tell her to check the last PM I sent to her on the Scrolls - it is in that.

Thanks heaps.
