A musical Dilemma
Two bands that I said I'd make an effort to catch in concert and they are playing in a city two hours away (in the middle of the work week, damn them)--one on Tuesday, one on Wednesday night. I could do one, but I couldn't do both....hell, I mght not be able to do either, lol.

A Perfect Circle plays in the OU basketball Arena in Norman...The Strokes at the Bricktown event center in OKC. The Bricktown event center has crappy sound, but I doubt that a basketball arena would be much better.

Who to choose?

any thoughts?

btw, Argy...the Strokes are playing Sydney pretty damn soon. Go see 'em and tell me if I should catch them.

I would vote for you seeing The Strokes.

I've been in New Xenaland, but I'm definitely gonna check out and see if the boys have skipped Ol' Sydney Town yet.

Who did you think I would be? - HA! - well you got me instead.

Alas, I misread the schedule, oh grand Pooh bah Argy...they played Oz in January.

I'm kind of inclinded to go to the Strokes concert, but I suppose when I listen to Mer de Nom or the Thirteenth step, I'll be conviced to do a Perfect Circle. Fickle of me, eh?

<sigh> I can do neither. Damn.

A Perfect Circle played last night. The Strokes play tonight, but I couldn't convince anyone to go with me and I don't feel like making the drive. Damn.

hmm...a new wrinkle. APC has just added a Tulsa date for June. The venue is not quite five minutes' drive from me.

Found a Strokes date in Kansas City the last Sunday of April. It's tempting to go up that Saturday and hit the jazz clubs, sleep as late as possible the next day and drive back after the concert. Anybody live in the KC, MO vicinity?

Nope.

I'm looking for dates to see either Stella One Eleven or Magic Dirt.

Duuu-uuuuuuuuuu-uuuuuuu-uuuuuuuuuuu-dette!

Ares came home today and handed me two tickets to see Missy Elliot in Sydney.

You're the first person I've told.

I'm stoked. Big Grin

Enjoy, oh grand pooh-bah! Better you than me. *g*

The Strokes are a no-go, alas. Kansas City on a Wednesday night--not Sunday like I thought. If I couldn't summon up the energy for a two hour jaunt to OKC, I don't see me making the 4 to 5 run to KC and returning the same night. <sniff>

Bummer. Frown

I'm trying to catch two Aussie bands who are touring around at the moment, Magic Dirt and Stella One Eleven, but they keep playing everywhere besides Sydney.

It's a conspiracy to stop us seeing quality live bands, I tell ya.

If you can get the Magic Dirt CD Tough Love anywhere you should. You'd love it!
