All About Eve
I received the following message from Infopop. The Scrolls are about to be updated from UBB.X to new software called "Eve".

Scrollers shouldn't notice many changes, apart from the fact that everyone WILL need to have fairly up to date browsers to access the Scrolls.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the Scrolls will now be forever associated with Eve? Wink

IMPORTANT NEWS!

On Tuesday, March 30th, your website will be migrated from the Ensim control panel system to the new DirectAdmin site administration panel, per our posting at http://community.infopop.net/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=729094322&f=3983010105&m=89910064463.

Additionally and importantly, if you are using UBB.x, your UBB.x message board will be upgraded to eve, our new community platform. For more info on eve, please see http://www.infopop.com/aboutus/release. If you have any questions, please contact us through our online support system at https://www.infopop.com/q/q.php.

The upgrade process will begin at 8:00 AM Pacific Time, but your particular site may be migrated anytime during that day or, if you have an extremely large number of stored posts, perhaps in the evening. Please note that there will be some downtime for your website and your UBB.x message board; in most cases, you should expect your entire site to be down for up to 15 minutes and for your UBB.x to be down for up to one hour while the upgrade process completes. This downtime will occur sometime during the specified day/evening.Once your UBB.x board comes back up the search function will be inoperable for up to an hour while the index is rebuilt, this is expected behavior. This downtime will occur sometime during the specified day. Once your migration has completed you should review your eve and website settings.Once your migration has completed you should review your eve and website settings.

ABOUT EVE

After the migration the existing URLs will work, but your UBB.x message board will actually be located at http://yoursite.com/eve/ubb.x after the migration, and http://yoursite.com/eve will get you to eve's portal page, which looks like this: http://www.infopop.com/images/screenshots/ui_eve_portal.gif.

Note that eve requires IE 5.5+, Netscape 7+, Mozilla, Safari or Opera 7+. This covers over 99% of all internet users. Older browsers may not work correctly. Also note that your users will need to reset their preferences after the move to eve. You can find complete documentation on eve, including a Transition Guide and a Quick Start Guide, located at http://www.infopop.com/docs/eve/. We encourage you to use the Transition Guide to ensure that your new eve community behaves as you expect. You will not lose any data (like members, posts, etc.) as a result of this upgrade.

Again, if you have any questions, please contact us through our support ticket system at https://www.infopop.com/q/q.php.

Thank you for choosing Infopop!
