She's the 1980 Honda XL 125 I bought a while ago. Here is a before and 2 after shots. I think it's quite an improvement. She was pretty sound mechanically, but cosmetically, she was damn ugly. Her tank was really dented, the front fender was hanging on by a thread and the rear was torn up. She was missing a side cover, had busted levers, her bars were bent and the seat ripped.

We used bondo on the tank and it turned out great. I replaced her fr and rr fenders with UFO aftermarket and got a NOS side cover. We painted the tank and plastic a metallic charcoal gray.

I completely disassembled the rear shocks, polished and painted them. Went over every aluminum piece on her (engine, front shocks etc) with a fine grit automotive sand paper to remove the oxidation and scratches. She also got new bars, new grips, new levers, new drive chain cover, new brake cable, new shift lever, in line fuel filter etc... She still needs a couple things. I'd like to have her seat professionally recovered and Dad said he'd help me with her muffler and handlebar stop on the neck. (I still need help welding) I'm hoping to have her street legal pretty soon. She's a mean one, let me tell you. She'd just as well have her front tire off the ground as on. Wink

I was watching Little Darling on HBO last week and Matt Dillon and his bunch were riding bikes just like her. Who knows, she could have been a star back in the day.

Very tasty. Razz

Like the colour you've chosen - in between modern and retro.

Good job!

But you're my source. When I reach down deep inside myself and do things I'm not capable of, it's because of you. Don't you know that by now?
