ArgeauxPoem
I haven't posted here for a while.
I find that, when I am writing so much for Uni, I get sort of dried up and can't contribute very much to this forum.
I hope to catch up on what you've all been up to soon, as I've been curious about the titles of some of your latest poems.
Anyway, here's something I just threw out, which encapsulates my year.
Master of Creative WritingThe sinews of my fingers
Stretched and plied the keys into submission
Tom-tomming out a beat
My major work
I dare to smirk
‘Tis bound and presented
As I walk away
Each step feels lighter than the last
How will I live now?
Without deadlines
These ideas are just for me
Not to fill pages with
Perhaps I should write all those things I have neglected
Cheques, letters
Replies to invitations I have collected
I can catch up on relationships
Thrown aside with the dirty dishes
There is a spare niece or two somewhere around here
The pool beckons through the heat
Everything else can wait
I feel the need to lie and soak
Tomorrow
I will start writing again

The TrollIt so good to read an original "Argy" poem again! I love this one. As a writer I can definately relate. Especially this:
quote:
My major work
I dare to smirk
‘Tis bound and presented
As I walk away
Each step feels lighter than the last
It's that feeling that you'ver really done it this time, and you'll never top that. Till the urge to write pulls you back again.

GabberCan I just say it's wonderful to have Poetry!Argy back?
I think you summed up that feeling of finishing something you've invested all your time and energies into quite well. It's like you put all your efforts into it, and it's wonderful, but other things get put on the sidelines in the meantime...and when it finishes, now you can get back to those things and focus on them again.
I think that shows simply in your return into FF&P right here and right now. I just had to comment because it's wonderful to have you back -- I have missed your writings and sometimes when you've been busy, your input on mine. Don't be a stranger too long this time.
