Sean Connery is still the best Bond but Daniel Craig can come in second place. "Casino Royale" is a very good comeback for the Bond series. Few gimmicks and flash and more grit and character depth (as much depth as one can expect in a Bond film, that is). Starts off with an introduction to pre-00 Bond and then onto a great chase scene that pays homage to "District B13" (anyone see that film? i loves it!). No SPECTRE here, it's modern day setting so that means terrorists (but where was Bush?). The usual is here: fancy smantsy resorts, exotic locales, explosions and fights, and oh yeah, beautiful babes (Caterina Murino, Ivana Milicevic, and the Bond girl, Eva Green). Craig isn't no jet setting Pierce Brosnan or lame Roger Boore, he looks/seems more like Steve McQueen. But that's ok. McQueen was a such a great actor who was gone from earth way before his time, so it's cool to have a McQ as a down-to-earth (for now) Bond. Anyhoo, i enjoyed this movie and look forward to more Craig as Bond in the series. | ||
