Hugh Grant is a despicable human being, and therefore perfect for the role he plays in American Dreamz.

He is the actor we all love to hate, and this film gives us plenty of ammunition.

Despite all the stereotypes in this film (the gay guy loves to dance, go figure!!) and the fact that parts of the plot feel extremely forced a lot of the time, the interesting twists in the story keep the viewer entertained.

Basically, the piece is a big spoof of American Idol, it's creator, George W. Bush, the invasion of Iraq and all that is "white trash".

The impersonations are all very much in the ball park, especially the President, who is suffering from depression.

There is the usual fish out of water humour involving Arabs arriving in America for the first time but I can forgive all the faults of this film because of the piss funny finale.

A good date film, if your date isn't too high brow.

This one had potential to be ALOT funnier than it was...

Needed xc to punch the script up a bit or something....
It was ok,most of the acting was good there just wasnt alot for them to say.
