Lori at homeWhat's your favorite Scary movie?
Me, I like the campy scary movies. Evil Dead, Scream, Army of Darkness, those kinda movies. Don't give the The Grudge or The Ring. I need my sleep.
There's two good movies on the IFC channel called Ginger Snaps and Ginger Snaps 2. Both were directed by John Fawcett (Xena). It's a werewolf movie but about as scary as watching Buffy. Lotsa dark humor.
What's your favorites?

XF3I'm a big fan of M. Knight so I like scary movies that really make you think.
Signs is my favorite of his.

xenacrazedReposting my list below from XF3's thread on Halloween movies. One movie i wanna add to this list I watched last night on dvd, "One Missed Call". It's a Japanese flick with ghost girls, grudges, phones that ring that one shouldn't answer, and lotsa long black hair. Sound familiar? It's from the director of "Audition", an amazing suspenseful psych-drama a few years back. "One Missed Call" is a tribute to "Ringu", "Ju-on" and other similiar films but is a bit more scarey with a fun ending. If you see it, it's a play close attention to who the chararcters are kinda movie as things and ppl are not always as they seem.
The old, old classics, not scary but spooky with lotsa atmosphere that newer films lack-
The Wolf Man
Dracula
Frankenstein
Frankentsein Meets the Wolf Man
Bride of Frankenstein
Son of Frankenstein
House of Frankenstein
House of Dracula
The Mummy
The Creature from the Black Lagoon

Lori at homeSecret Window was great! It left me guessing until the very end, which doesn't happen very often in movies these days.
Wow, xc, that's quite a list. I'll have to hunt up some of those to watch one bright daylight day.

Shawnyeppers - haven't seen the remake - However I will be seeing the new one with Jordana Brewster

28 October 2005, 05:15 PM
Lori at homeDid you ever see The Making of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre? I'm talking about the original B&W. It was on TV earlier this year, maybe like a 20th anniversary special. The writer/directors talked about it and showed clips. It was pretty cool.
I never saw the movie, but they talked about a guy in a wheelchair? They all hated him cus he was an A-hole. Um, something like that.

28 October 2005, 11:20 PM
Madogiswell, there's a guy in a wheel chair in the new one. that's about the point when you know that this movie isn't going to dig itself out of the very deep whole it's already in...
i haven't seen the original but i'm willing to bet money that it's better than the remake. "texas chainsaw massacre" (2000-whatever) is THE worst movie i have ever seen in my entire life. it has exactly one good scene, and even that ends in disappointment. it's not even so bad it's funny. it's just bad -_-

ShinigamiI dunno, "Creepshow" (the first one), any "Nightmare On Elm Street" (Freddie rocks) and "Audrey Rose".

Free MadnessI love "Audrey Rose." It's sad but....well done.

XF3The Shining scared the everloving piss out of me when I was little. To this day it sends chills up my spine when I think about the look on Jack's face.
