Okay, you know the drill. I don't promise that I can go to the end, so someone's gotta help me. Pre-show. Penelope Cruz: From the hips up the dres is gorgeous....hips down, wtf?

Jennifer Hudson... love her. Like the dress. Am very unclear about what that gold lame dracula bolero jackety number is supposed to accomplish. Does Reese Witherspoon ever wear a bad red carpet dress? I think not, and it only got better since her divorce. I hope she pays her stylist well. Steve Carell looks cute in his tux. Did anyone watch the pre-show opening montage with the penguins etc and the Queen driving the Little Miss Sunshine VW bus? I love that crap.

That's a hell of a build-up for the make up oscar. Am I the only one who got distracted by Will Ferrell's hair?

So, anybody else wondering where the guy from Police Academy is? I think he could have done the whole sound effects thing without conductor and chorus....

None of the wives were nominated so on the Oscars. Hey, Marty finally won. Shoulda won for "The Aviator". Saw "The Departed" recently, liked it better when it was known as "Infernal Affairs". But DiCaprio did great job, shoulda been nominated for it. They need to give Christopher Lee an honorary award. There are no horror flick stars from the old days left except for Lee. Still haven't seen "Blood Diamond" (or "Little Children")- why are they keeping my Jen Con from me?!?! But "Blood Diamond" will be on dvd next month.

I enjoyed the Oscars. I thought Ellen did a decent hosting job. Just enough to keep things interesting. Her chat with Clint Eastwood was the best. I was glad to see Helen Mirren win. And her gown looked stunning! Elegant, not to mention age-appropriate. Props to Forrest Whittaker, as well. I like his acting. His speech I could have done without, but at least it wasn't too long. Great to see Scorsese finally get a bit of Oscars recognition. Haven't seen the film yet so I can't comment on that. I liked the montage with some of the Best Foreign Films and also thought the costume design segment was handled well. Ares was annoyed by all the sucking up to Al Gore or, as I like to call him, Daryl Hammond. *snicker* Well, that's my take. Until next time. ~~~~~~~~~~
