zoomastronomers name moon of new planet
A Team Of Astronomers Found Moon “Gabrielle” Next To Newly Discovered Planet “Xena” The astronomers that claim to have discovered the 10th planet in our solar system announced the planet also has a moon.
While the astronomers lead by Michael Brown of the California Institute of Technology were observing the planet, nicknamed Xena, they saw a faint object next to it.
By determining the moon's distance and orbit around Xena, scientists can calculate how heavy Xena is.
The moon, nicknamed Gabrielle is about 155 miles wide and is 9 billion miles away from the sun.
The International Astronomical Union, a group of scientists responsible for naming planets, is deciding on formal names for Xena and Gabrielle.

Smirk MorganI don't care what the "official" name is.
They will ALWAYS be Xena and Gabrielle.
Let some modern mythology in. Maybe we should start a petition?

ArgeauxProof, once again, that:
a) Xenites are cool
b) Xenites are everywhere

Brucy BralessIt occurred to me earlier today that if X&G are decided to be Kuiper Belt objects they could probably retain our fave names.
If they are planets then most likely no....
