ArgeauxJust watched the video for the new version - it's good! I like the extra rap, not to mention the guitar solo. Paul McCartney can still play a mean bass.
I heard that Sir Bob Geldorf dissed it, saying, 'Who ARE half these people.' Wrong spirit, man.
I was young and penniless when the first version came out. I'll be shelling out the bucks this time.

AmethystI recognise more names from the original than the new version.
I hear Paul McCartney contacted them and said, can i join, and they were like.. shit yeah of course..LOL

DitieIt`s a good cause an all but they have really murdered the song....
It`s awful.
Much prefered the 80`s version
Bought it anyways 3 times over...
That said...
Just a thought.
I know its a good cause...but...
20 years ago it was a "christaian" song
"Do they know it`s christmas?" for a mainly "christain" population...
Is it really relevat to taday?
Mostly people in that part of the world are of Muslim orientatin...Not Christian
SO ...Do they know it`s Christmas????

Filthy..Gorgeous..Dirty..Nasty !!

Madogisyeah, i think that too sometimes, about it being a christian thing, but i think they mean it more in the way that while we're celebrating a holiday that *should* be about peace on earth and good will towards man, there are wars going on in other parts of the world, and starvation and other kinds of badness. it's just to make people think about these kinds of things, therefore, i think it's just as relavent as ever. i get what you're saying though

hehe, wham

david bowie! woo!^_^ *goes and listens to the original again*

ArgeauxYou're right.
It should have been 'Do They Know It's A Range of Festive Seasons At All?'
