BrianWow. What a trip. I've seen mudpots and volcanoes up close and they are incredible. I loved the old houses. Do you have any more interior shots of the old houses?
The blue lagoon shots were fun. Your wearing of blue slime and white slime reminded me of Gabrielle in The Abyss and In Sickness and In Hell.
The puffins... good eating? taste like chicken? just kidding!
Thanks for taking us to Iceland with you!

CoraWOW nice pictures

hey Evilswine.. they can date ice because when then drill like core samples out, you can see look at the dirt and polution and relate them to different events that happened in the past. for instance if you where to take a sample and you came to a part with volcano ash you could tell that like say it was the ash from Mount St helens, then you know what year it was, and they are able to do that dateing back years and years.

CorXyGlad you guys like the piccies!
Yeah,what
Cora explained about the ice is correct.
Brian, I dont have any more interior shots of the old houses but I'm sure my "mom" does. Gonna have to ask her for some piccies, scan and add them to the collection.
I'll let you know!
Actually in the restaurants they offer Puffin Breast!!! *eek*
It's so gross! those lil birdies are sooo cute and they eat them! *sniff*
Rubio, the writing "Hi Scrollers!" in the sand is some kind of tradition,I guess.
Argy, started it - she wrote the same into the sand when she was in NZ and posted a pic of it!!
I'm gonna add a few more piccies of
Puffins soon - I'll let you know!

KSenaPuffin breast is know to be a delicious dish. Not different from eating chicken breast. I know that in Icelande there is also a tradition of eating sheep-brain, so.... There are different cultures, thats all.

CorXyyeah,I know! different cultures, different (eating) habits.
But I just couldnt eat the Puffin Breast after having been so close to those cute birdies!
I tried whale steak and it tasted like a normal beef steak just a lil fishy! LOL
Other than that I didnt eat any curiosities - oh,no...I forgot the chocolate pralinés (5 pieces not much bigger than a fingertip) for US$ 12.- ...but they were delicious!
