Shawnfor a wonderful friend
When It’s Time To Say Goodbye
Your eye’s have such depth
Your love is so very simple
A softness that can’t be measured
Fulfills a basic need in me
Yes, I love you
More than you’ll even comprehend
You give without taking
You mend what is broken in me
The tilt of your head
The question in your eyes
Why is your life so short
Why can’t others see what is so clear
Your bed will belong to no other
Your memory will keep me warm
I will cherish every moment
I will go on and love again
I wrote this for a fellow scroller who’s cherished four legged friend may not have much more time. To anyone who has loved and lost a pet, don’t stop loving. There are so many others out there that need you.

The TrollThis a very beautiful piece Shawn. I have loved a pet as dearly and it made me remember... That unquestioning love is such a special thing. Thank you for the reminder.
I am sorry for your friends loss I hope your support and the poem gives relief.

ArgeauxThat was a really lovely poem. It made me cry, which is not something that I do alot.
My four-legged friend was sitting right by me as I read it, which might explain why.
Thanks for sharing.

Free MadnessThat was beautiful. And ironic....last week, my sweet little rat passed away after two and a half years of life. Rodents make sweet pets, but they don't live very long unfortunately.

I take comfort knowing it was natural causes. But it still is a harsh one.
Our four legged friends have a lot more intelligence and unconditional love for us than some humans do. If I didn't have my animal companions, I wouldn't be complete.

Whoever this scroller is, I send them my condolances.
Thanks for sharing.
