About the idea that adding diverse forums will make this less of a Xena board: It seems to me that right now the only part of the scrolls that is still Xena is the Xena forum, a good bit of the Subtext forum posts, and a bit of the Fan Fic forum. The other forums deal with other stuff. No different from what we'd have with additional forums that are proposed . I guess that is why I don't see diversifying types of forums as a potential "threat" to the original nature of the board- just an opportunity to grow, which is what it seems we've been "unofficially" doing since the series ended anyway.
And I'm still a rabid Xena fan.

I'm Totally opposed.
The scrolls ALWAYS has worked best as a small community of ..'friends'
As it grew it became a more faceless. nastier, city of strangers with smaller sub-communitys..
Umm Cliques they were referred to...for a while

Things must change. I understand..Time stands still for no one ..

but a slow rate of change might be best,No...??

Why not change the new buffy forum to 'other TV' or if Buffy is thriving.. make 1 more fourum

More people IS NOT better...
Quality of participants not Quantity is what ALWAYS separated this MB from the other Slag out there..

In fact when this board was at its Largest it was also at its worst..
the Most fractious..
the most rude & inconsiderate
Its far from wasting away...

I found a thriving MB for my recent 2nd fave show ..."La Femme Nikita" it had a bewildering array of sub-forums..
people with 4& 5000 posts & was mostly a half-dozen chicks & a few guys having sexy/innuendo chat stuff..
I was monumentally dissappointed...

If we dilute this place too much you will never be able to come back to where we are now ..

IT will become all eggnog & nonsense....
like Broadcast TV...

A bunch of old friends meeting in 1 place has an appeal all its own....
Im going to post a comment about the old scrolls in the FITE CLUB forum...
Ulrich& linxi had a polite difference of opinion @ the earliest scrolls.. I intend to add my 2 cents too..

Ill try to snip out the relevant stuff & post it in the General forum..

I'm opposed to changing the name of the Scrolls. I think adding other forums is good, but I'd like the overall name to remain the same. As a tribute to the legacy we share (We ALL share, old-timers and not-so-old-timers alike).

Enough damage has already been done, please don't change the name.

I was wrong to introduce the subject of name change into this thread.

Enough people have indicated they would like some new forums so I'm gonna throw some up.

This is what I've done:

1. made it so people can have Avatars, some with Xena and Buffy in 'em

2. fixed the Scrolls, as there were many things that were broken with the old board eg. not getting sent passwords

3. added a polls feature which many people seem to be enjoying

4. added new forums which a lot of Scrollers indicated they would like

5. increased posting here by approximately ten times in just a couple of weeks
