Who here speaks different languages (besides English, of course)? I'm just curious.
I can understand and read some Spanish. My grammar's terrible, though.

EmessisUm, other than English, I speak some French, I've had 4 years of it in school. I know a couple words of Dutch from when I lived there, and I can say a few sentences in Russian (thanks to t.A.T.u. and one of my friends

).

*sigh*... there goes the only accomplishment I had occasional fits of pride about.
Nope, apart from English I don't know any other foreign language.

AmethystOk Ully, just come out and say it, don't beat around the bush.
Apart from English, doesn't count for everyone cause English isn't everyone's first language here..*S*

AristaI can understand a little Spanish - provided they don't speak too fast.
Aside from that, I speak two forms of English. English and BAD English.

OK, Ulrich, what I ACTUALLY wanted to ask everyone was: what country are you from, and what languages do you speak? I know that English is a second language for a lot of people here, but it's hard for me to tell who doesn't know English as a first language because everyone here speaks it so well.
So, from what I know about you, I will ask--do you speak German?
24 December 2002, 05:28 PM
CENI only really claim english as language. But can understand Spanish very well, although I seem to have difficulty speaking it. A bit of French and Dine also. That is about it.

EmessisDine?... The only language I can think of that sounds a bit like that is Danish...*confused again*
24 December 2002, 07:30 PM
beauTifully tragicdine is a navajo language.. but i dunno if that's what cen meant
24 December 2002, 07:36 PM
<xenacrazed>...and here i thought Dine was the gourmet dining language. You know, "Pass the taters", "Pass the
corn", "Pass the cheese", "More eggnog please",
"More fried rice please", etc etc.

CENYep Emessis, Tam has it right on top.
![[Smile]](smile.gif)
(Tam is as sharp as a tack!)
But XC has the funnest part of it all! Yummie foodstuffs.
Cheers all. Best holiday wishes to you all.

EmessisAhh, alright. Glad that's all cleared up. ^_^
25 December 2002, 01:43 PM
<Axel>As most of you know, I am german - so there is at least one advantage. Most peeps say that german is difficult to learn...I am glad I don't have to go through THAT at least
Anyways...apart from that I speak english, I can order a coffee in a french bistro (although the peeps start looking at me in a weird way when I do
![[Smile]](smile.gif)
) and I can understand a little spanish (but just the plain basics).
