FINALLY someone came back
To have them a rhyming attack
I got so skeered
This would end, I feared
My limerick world was so black

Because I put in a new tone
I like when it rings

OK, let's get this thread revved back up with a new lim challenge.

This time you have to write a limerick in the style of a Xena character, eg. if you're writing as Calli, you might write in quite an angry style.

The theme for the limerick is:

"If I were Xena for a day ..."

May the gods be with you!!

her heart is as black as a spider
as a shamaness, none have denied her
many souls she may haunt
but what does she really want,
to be Xena, or to be inside her?

that Xena thinks that she's so hot
what's she have that i haven't got?
some magical power
to steal away my Hower
and that irrirtating little blonde snot.

(okay--slightly off theme for the challenge, but still on theme for the thread... )

I have many skills, dontcha know?
I can fight, I can cook, I can throw
If my name was Xena
I would have no weiner
But Gabby's love for me would grow

to be Xena is all that i aspire
it would rememdy this situation so dire
cuz i'm smitten with young Gabrielle
even though i don't know her very well
and i can't get to her trough Brunhilde's ring of fire.

"You can't kill me, Xena," I said,
"I'm worth more if I am not dead"
Then I took out a knife
To take Xena's life
But she turned 'round and cut off my head

So now I am just an old ghost
But I have something left to boast
I'm haunting that Xena
And so she seems meaner
Plundering from coast to coast

Xena is a temptress, a beauty, I am in awe
If she would just join me and be my Goddess of War
But til then I will conspire
To win her, set her heart afire
Til she becomes mine in love and much more

I wanted her love that's for sure
but my powers were stronger than hers
so I couldn't admit
that my heart was smitten
cuz my ego's as big as the world.

especially for Argeaux--or her Italian counterpart, as is lately the case:


"my sources" have told me of your vision
and i agree with your painful decision
in your absense, i'll persuade her
to become, with me, a crusader
thereby giving Gabrielle's fate a revision

If I was Xena I would pillage
Ev'ry small town and each village
I would make them all flood
With rivers of blood
Using Gab's hair to mop up the spillage

i actually was Xena for a day
well..i was me too, so it's hard to say
if it was even more swell
than kissing Gabrielle
to be possessed by the Warrior Princess that way.

If I were Xena for a day
I would not let my heart astray
'cause rubbing against Ares' belt
Would cause nothing more that a welt
All that for a mere roll in the hay?

Did someone say Xena and hay?
You know that I must now obey
And go sow my oats
And jump fences and moats
And munch on red apples all day!

*whinny*

If i was Xena you certainly
I'd do a war cry or three
I am such a try hard
and not a bard
But stay away from Hower...See

dammit, the scrolls sure are tame
just finished playing another TwinXenas game
i could go out and learn to surf
but here i sit, call me "hoochie smurf"
cuz i just found out that's really my name

with rhymes my brain's usually brimming
but i fear that last effort was lame limming
no that wasn't a skunk
that limerick stunk
and was equal in quality to pond skimming

okay, i'm going to be terse
i think the last one even worse
we'll suffer this blight
til i say goodnight
thus ending this bad rhyming curse

it looks like i've more limericks to post
if this thread will remain as the most
so i'm writing again
til we reach page 10
and the "what if" thread then will be toast
